Cast iron balustrades

This paint finish was a specifically formulated Cellulose based product formulated on site to specific ratios to achieve exact amount of Sheen and depth of colour.

Painting spec for these items was one primer coat one undercoat and two Full topcoats mid Sheen finish.

These cast iron balustrades had to be all individually removed and stripped back to bare metal prior to any painting works to be considered approximately 580 in all on three separate staircases.

The handrail is a dark mahogany polished finish again mid sheen.

Ceiling

Although the ceilings are over 5 m in height from floor to ceiling all of the repair work had to be carried out with halogen lighting which will highlight the smallest defect consequently made this work a long and difficult process.

Plaster mouldings had to be painstakingly cleaned out due to buildup of paint over many years.

See the ceilings at various stages in the process there are six of the ceilings in total.
All ceilings were painted in Farrow and Ball, One coat of Farrow and Ball primer and three topcoats of strong white estate emulsion.

You can see how the ceilings look in these finished areas in total the ceilings were painted with approximately six coats to achieve a sound solid finish.

All this work was carried out using airless spray equipment after trials and test areas it was decided that a sprayed finish would achieve the best results.
